Memphis Grizzlies Beat Phoenix Suns 117-96

Next Game: Tuesday (10/30) vs. Wizards on 92.9 FM ESPN

October 28, 2018 - 11:39 am

(ESPN) The Memphis Grizzlies cruised to a 117-96 win inside FedExForum in front of 15,926 Saturday night (10/27). Marc Gasol scored 19 points while Mike Conley added 18. Gasol played despite battling neck soreness this week after exiting the Sacramento Kings game earlier Wednesday night.

The Grizzlies extended a large first half lead and coasted in the second half. This was Phoenix's 4th straight loss. Devin Booker did not play for the Suns.

For Bickerstaff, the return to Grit n' Grind continues to be the end goal for potential Grizzlies success in 2018-19.

Chandler Parsons sat for the second straight game with "right knee soreness".

But the story of the evening might have been Yuta Watanabe. It wasn't because of the minutes played by one of Memphis' two-way players, but rather his mere presense in an NBA game making him only the second Japanese player to play (in a regular season NBA game).

LIVE GRIZZLIES COVERAGE: Monday (10/29) morning beginning at 9 a.m. with more on the Grizzlies from the Geoff Calkins Show.
