There was some history made in Memphis with the inaugural home opener of Memphis Express (Alliance of American Football/AAF) Football happening at the Liberty Bowl on Saturday. Unfortunately, Memphis made AAF history as the first team in the new league to lose a home game. Final: Arizona Hotshots 20 Memphis Express 18

92.9's Geoff Calkins was there and tweeted some thoughts/coverage:

Yes, the Express announced that there were 11,980 who paid to see the game. It looked like there were likely anywhere from 5,000-6,000 who actually attended the game. That included those in the new party decks. And a bit of news came with that, as the Express seemingly did something new at the Liberty Bowl. Party decks. Turns out, the Memphis Tigers will also have those in 2019.
