Heartbreak in Memphis: Live Coverage Monday at 9AM

Final: No. 10 UCF 31 Memphis 30

October 14, 2018 - 12:59 pm

This one really hurt. And that's exactly what quarterback Brady White empasized after it was over saying, "We should've won that game." The Tigers didn't score in the second half and had their chances.

It hurt because the first half held all the promise of a Memphis upset Saturday at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in front of a crowd of 38,831. The ABC broadcast rated as a solid 2.4 overnight share per ESPN.  Watching on TV it felt like 66,000 were at Liberty Bowl in that first half. It all felt so right at halftime with Memphis up 30-17.

And then it felt wrong. The rains came and Memphis went back to being the team we saw fall at Tulane.

Final score: #10 UCF 31 Memphis 30

Bring on the puns.

If you're looking for a bright spot it continues to be a magical season for University of Memphis running back Darrell Henderson, who many think should be more in the discussion as a Heisman candidate.

Now the Tigers must regroup before playing Missouri on Saturday in Columbia, MO. Missouri lost at Alabama this weekend, 39-10.

MEMPHIS (4-3) at MISSOURI (3-3) on Saturday (10/20) at 3:00 p.m. (CST) on the SEC Network (TV).

LISTEN LIVE: Monday (10/15) morning at 9:00 a.m. Geoff Calkins will begin coverage of Memphis' loss to UCF at 9:00 a.m. on 92.9 FM ESPN
