In Conley We Trust. Avery Bradley & Mike Conley Combine for 47 as Grizzlies Beat the Magic 105-97

Grizzlies on a 3 Game Winning Streak. Next Game: Wed. at 6:30 p.m. vs. Hawks on 92.9

March 10, 2019 - 9:32 pm

The Memphis Grizzlies aren't going to the playoffs, but the race to possibly convey their top 8 protected pick to the Boston Celtics has been exciting. The Grizzlies are playing great basketball winning three straight and four of the last five games. "The guys have stuck with it," Grizzlies Coach JB Bickerstaff said postgame following the Grizzlies 105-97 win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday night (3/10). More importantly the Grizzlies might have found their 2-guard shooting solution in the form of Avery Bradley. Bradley scored 21 points and his defense was superb (+26 +/- Sunday). Combine Bradley's 21 with the steady production of Mike Conley (26 points) and the team may have their guard lineup for the next couple years. Mike Conley was the postgame guest on 92.9 FM ESPN following the Grizzlies win. Conley talked about the scarey knockdown he had Sunday night. The 5-spot is similarly steady with Jonas Valanciunas and Joakim Noah splitting time, and playing excellent basketball on both sides of the ball. But it was Valanciunas' block of Wesley Iwundu's dunk attempt with 1:22 remaining that turned everything.  JB Bickerstaff said, "Defensively when we needed to get stops, we made them."

Delon Wright followed Valanciunas' block on the other end making an "and 1" bringing the Grizzlies within one of the Magic, 97-96.  The Magic wouldn't score again.

Next Game: Memphis Grizzlies (28-40) vs. Atlanta Hawks (23-45)
