Big L in O Canada. Final: Toronto Raptors 119 Memphis Grizzlies 90

Special MLK Game Monday vs. New Orleans on 92.9 FM ESPN/Coverage begins at 3:30 p.m.

January 19, 2019 - 9:14 pm

The Memphis Grizzlies are bad. With or without Marc Gasol. Sure, Marc Gasol helps. But the Toronto Raptors didn't have Kawhi Leonard and still beat the Grizzlies by 29 points. Final: Toronto Raptors 119 Memphis Grizzlies 90

Toronto was led by Danny Green who lit Memphis up for 24 points in just 22 minutes. But generally it was a balanced onslaught combined with another bad effort in the 3rd quarter by the Memphis Grizzlies. Coach JB Bickerstaff said, "They (the Raptors) came out with purpose in that 4th quarter and kind of knocked us out."  (more audio from JB Bickerstaff/postgame audio - above, click image)

Jaren Jackson had 16 points but still didn't get but 12 field goal attempts on a night where fans of the Memphis development process would have liked to see more shots by the rookie.

Next up is the Memphis MLK Celebration Game on Monday (1/21) at FedExForum against the New Orleans Pelicans. Anthony David will likely not play giving Memphis the opportunity to stop their 5-game losing streak at home.
