The AAF Won't Start Manziel Yet. Can Fighting Be the Answer?

Eminem tweets about an AAF Solution. Yes, Eminem. With Responses from Ebersol and Manziel

March 25, 2019 - 10:53 pm

In an interesting turn of events, mega star Eminem (yes, Eminem) tweeted about a possible solution for the (Alliance of American Football) AAF woes:

The Memphis Express may have the solution on their roster, but Mike Singletary and the team decided not to start Johnny Football. After a comeback victory for the Express at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium Sunday night (3/24) Singletary annointed Brandon Silvers as the team's starting quarterback going forward.

But Manziel has intrigued potential fans with his mic'ed up "b**** a**" drop and his Memphis redemption story. Manziel was once again in the house for the Memphis Grizzlies win Monday night (3/25) at FedExForum. Manziel tweeted back at Eminem.

Fighting is likely not on the horizon for the AAF, given the developmental/fundamental approach by the startup league. But Charlie Ebersol, AAF CEO/Founder, responded that Detroit might make sense for the league:

Next Memphis Express game: Saturday, March 30, at 1:00 p.m. vs. Orlando Apollos (Steve Spurrier's club) at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium

Live coverage of the AAF and the Memphis Express on 92.9 FM ESPN, Memphis' Sports Station.
